Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD
Corp) has kickstarted its collaboration with SME Association of Malaysia (SME
Association) with the hydroponic smart farming pilot project for the Orang Asli
community here today. This follows the Memorandum of Understanding
(MoU) signed between both parties to develop training and upskilling
programmes for the local communities last month.

is because, according to the Department of Statistics Malaysia’s (DOSM) Labour Productivity
Report for Q1 2022, Malaysia’s labour productivity as measured by value added, expanded to
5.0 per cent compared to 3.6 per cent in Q4 2021, while hours worked increased to 4.6 per
cent compared to 2.3 per cent in Q4 2021.
